Elite AI LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Hefty personal AI assistant software and the hefty.bot website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We designed Hefty with a simple principle: your data belongs to you. Hefty runs on your computer, and your conversations, files, and personal information stay on your machine.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information. If you create an account on our platform (e.g., to access downloads, submit feedback, or manage your subscription), we collect your email address and, if you use social login (such as Google), the basic profile information provided by that service (name and email address).
- Feedback and Communications. When you contact us, submit feedback through our website, or communicate with us by email, we collect the content of those messages along with your email address.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Website Analytics. When you visit hefty.bot, our servers may collect basic access log data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We do not use third-party tracking services or advertising cookies.
- Download Metrics. We may record aggregate download counts to understand which platforms are most used. This data is not linked to individual users.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
This is the most important part of this policy:
- Your Conversations with Hefty. All conversations between you and Hefty are processed and stored locally on your device. We never receive, transmit, or have access to the content of your conversations.
- Your Files and Documents. Hefty operates on files stored on your computer. We have no access to those files.
- Hefty's Memory and Knowledge. Everything Hefty learns about you, your preferences, and your projects is stored locally in the
~/.hefty directory (or your configured data directory) on your machine. This data never leaves your device through our Service. - Keystroke or Screen Data. We do not capture, log, or transmit any keystroke, screenshot, or screen recording data.
1.4 Third-Party AI Providers
Hefty supports multiple AI providers for its reasoning capabilities, including local options (Ollama, LM Studio) and cloud services (OpenAI, Anthropic, and other OpenAI-compatible APIs). You choose your AI provider.
- If you choose a local AI provider (Ollama or LM Studio), your prompts and data are processed entirely on your machine and never leave your device.
- If you choose a cloud AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or another service), your prompts are sent directly from your machine to that provider using your own API key. We do not act as an intermediary, proxy, or relay for these requests. The data flows directly between your device and the provider you selected.
- Each cloud AI provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any cloud provider you choose to use.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service. Delivering software downloads, processing account authentication, and providing customer support.
- To Improve the Service. Understanding aggregate usage patterns (e.g., which platforms are most popular) to prioritize development efforts.
- To Communicate with You. Responding to feedback, sending important product updates or security notices. We will not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
- To Protect the Service. Detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, or security threats.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers. We may use a small number of service providers (e.g., email delivery, hosting) who process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations to protect your information and use it only as directed by us.
- Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or safety, or investigate potential violations.
- Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have.
4. Data Retention
- Account Data. We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
- Feedback and Communications. We retain feedback and support correspondence for a reasonable period to improve our products and resolve issues.
- Server Logs. Basic server access logs are retained for no more than 90 days and then automatically deleted.
- Local Data. Data stored on your device by Hefty is entirely under your control. You can delete it at any time by removing the
~/.hefty directory or your configured data directory.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to protect your device and API keys.
Because the core of Hefty's functionality runs locally on your machine, the security of your conversations and personal data depends primarily on the security of your own device and network.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access and Portability. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. You may request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion. You may request that we delete your account and associated personal information.
- Objection and Restriction. You may object to or request restriction of certain processing activities.
- Withdraw Consent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.

For data stored locally by Hefty on your device, you have full and direct control at all times - no request to us is necessary.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 8. International Data Transfers
Elite AI LLC is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy regardless of where it is processed.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
