Command Bar & Commands
The Command Bar
The command bar is the text input at the bottom of the screen where you type messages, commands, or goals. Press Enter or click the send button to submit.
- Keyboard shortcut
/— press/anywhere on the page to instantly focus the command bar. This lets you start typing without reaching for the mouse. - Command history — double-click the input field to enable history navigation, then use Arrow Up / Arrow Down to cycle through previous messages you've sent.
The command bar keeps focus even while Hefty is processing, so you can type follow-up guidance without clicking.
Slash Commands
Typing / at the start of a message activates slash command mode — special shortcuts for common actions.
The /do family of commands deals with initiatives — bigger, trackable tasks and schedules covered on the Bigger Tasks & Schedules page.
Unknown Commands
Any unrecognised slash command falls through to regular chat — Hefty treats it as a normal message. Typing /foobar won't produce an error; it will simply be sent as text.
File Attachments
You can attach files to your message by clicking the paperclip icon in the command bar. Attachments are sent alongside your text and Hefty can read their contents.
Supported File Types
Images, PDFs, plain text, JSON, CSV, Markdown, and HTML.
Size Limit
Each file has a maximum size of 10 MB.
Preview & Removal
Attached files appear as small chip badges above the input area before sending. Each chip shows the file name and can be removed by clicking the remove control, so you can correct a selection before submitting.
